➡️A couple of weeks I wrote a caption explaining the Northern Lights from a scientific view👨‍🔬, now it is time for the legends surrounding this amazing spectacle:

📜According to one legend, Odin, the chief god and ruler of Asgard, lived in Valhalla, where he was preparing for Ragnarök. This event was predestined and would be Odin’s greatest battle⚔️, so he needed the bravest warriors at his side. During every battle on Earth, Odin would pick the warriors who would die and join him in Valhalla. The Valkiries👸 were female warriors on horseback. who wore armour and carried spears and shields🛡️, were tasked with leading Odin’s chosen warriors to Valhalla. The Vikings believed the Northern Lights🌌 illuminating the sky were the reflections of the Valkyrie’s armour🛡️ as they led the warrior to Odin.

📜In several other legends, they claim the Northern Lights🌌 were the breath of brave soldier who died in combat or they were believed to be the Bifrost Bridge🌈, a glowing, pulsing arch which led fallen warriors to the their final resting place in Valhalla.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦But for the Sámi people, the Northern Lights🌌 didn’t tell stories of heroism and bravery, they believed that they were the souls of the dead💀, and they were to be feared and respected in equal measure, so you shouldn’t talk🗣️ about them or even waving👋, whistling😗 or singing🎶 under them, as this would alert the lights to your presence and carry you up to the sky⬆️. Nowadays, many Sámi people stay in their homes🏠 when the Northern Lights are illuminating the sky🌌.

“Sin duda fue expectacular,la mejor experiencia que e tenido.El lugar está perfecto,desde el techo de la habitación veíamos las auroras boreales.Todo muy limpio y las camas son bien cómodas,hasta tienen control de posición.El personal son demasiados amables,llegué después de las 11 pm y llegando nuestro carro se atoró debido a q me equivoqué de entrada y por la nieve se atoró y ellos bien amables nos ayudaron a esa hora.Sin duda recomiendo este lugar y volvería a quedarme.Todo es hermoso”

“Ekkerøya er et fantastisk utgangspunkt for å oppleve Varanger med bil. Huset ligger på tarmen ut mot øya, midt mellom to flotte strender. Perfekt med et forfriskende bad i Varangerfjorden før en økt i badstua. Strendene konkurrerer med verdens beste, mens like bortenfor ligger Havhesten som er en sjarmerende familierestaurant drevet sommerstid. Selve huset er enkelt, men rent og pent, med det meste av utstyr en trenger. Hyggelig kommunikasjon. Anbefaler en tur til Bugøynes og Hamningberg. ”

➡️A couple of weeks I wrote a caption explaining the Northern Lights from a scientific view👨‍🔬, now it is time for the legends surrounding this amazing spectacle:

📜According to one legend, Odin, the chief god and ruler of Asgard, lived in Valhalla, where he was preparing for Ragnarök. This event was predestined and would be Odin’s greatest battle⚔️, so he needed the bravest warriors at his side. During every battle on Earth, Odin would pick the warriors who would die and join him in Valhalla. The Valkiries👸 were female warriors on horseback. who wore armour and carried spears and shields🛡️, were tasked with leading Odin’s chosen warriors to Valhalla. The Vikings believed the Northern Lights🌌 illuminating the sky were the reflections of the Valkyrie’s armour🛡️ as they led the warrior to Odin.

📜In several other legends, they claim the Northern Lights🌌 were the breath of brave soldier who died in combat or they were believed to be the Bifrost Bridge🌈, a glowing, pulsing arch which led fallen warriors to the their final resting place in Valhalla.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦But for the Sámi people, the Northern Lights🌌 didn’t tell stories of heroism and bravery, they believed that they were the souls of the dead💀, and they were to be feared and respected in equal measure, so you shouldn’t talk🗣️ about them or even waving👋, whistling😗 or singing🎶 under them, as this would alert the lights to your presence and carry you up to the sky⬆️. Nowadays, many Sámi people stay in their homes🏠 when the Northern Lights are illuminating the sky🌌.

"De maravilla nos alojamos en apartamento y era muy amplio la cocina perfectamente equipada, podías aparcar en la puerta y tenía unas vistas muy bonitas, las camas cómodas sin nada de otro mundo, la calefacción funcionaba perfectamente, ( no todos son así) tiene un balcón que daba la vida tanto por la mañana como por la noche, pudimos ver auroras boreales desde él. Eso sí el pueblo no es el que te venden en redes pero aun así merece la pena verlo."
